Benson is a senior air traffic controller currently working as an approach radar controller and shift supervisor at Jomo Kenyatta international Airport. 
Benson’s role, among others, include managing staff under his watch, coordinating traffic with the Area radar controller and Aerodrome Controller, Marshalling air traffic to and in the vicinity of aerodromes and feeding all inbound traffic to standard approach aids, controlling departing air traffic as required, providing all possible assistance to aircraft in a state of emergency, maintaining standard separation between aircraft under radar control and any other aircraft in the vicinity. 
Benson has training in aerodrome, approach non-radar and approach radar control. On top of basic training as an air traffic controller, Benson has a bachelor’s degree in business management-aviation management.
Benson’s other professional trainings include; Supervisory management, search and rescue coordination, safety management systems, RNAV, and universal safety oversight audit programme. 
Benson enjoys sharing knowledge and experience gained over the years in the aviation industry. Last year, Benson had a chance to speak at aviation festival Africa conference in South Africa.
