Mr Jamil Khir Mohamed is an officer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM). CAAM was formed in 18 February 2018, to replace Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) Malaysia. 
His current position is Director of the Kuala Lumpur Air Traffic Control Centre.  Kuala Lumpur Air Traffic Control Centre (KL ATCC) is responsible in providing Air Traffic Management Services within the Kuala Lumpur Flight Information Region (FIR). In 2018 Kuala Lumpur FIR handles 1,063,000 aircraft movements compare with 953,502 aircraft movements in 2017, increased of 11 per cent. His main responsibility is to ensure that the air traffic management services provided by KLATCC are in the safe, orderly and expeditious manner and in accordance with ICAO standards and recommended practice.
He has more than thirty years’ experience in air traffic management services within which he has covered operational and management scope. Prior to his current posting he was the Director of Malaysia Aviation Academy. Before joining the training academy he has worked at the Headquarters as Assistant Director before being promoted to Deputy Director. Prior to his duty at the headquarters he was an operational air traffic controller for fourteen years.
His speciality fields include air traffic control (ATC) services, ATC procedures development, ATC project management, Civil Military Coordination, ATC training and ATC unit director. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from National University of Malaysia and Master of Science (Airport Planning and Management) Degree from Loughborough University, UK.
